I have had this wood Christmas ornament shape in my stash for years. It was getting a little ridiculous that I hadn’t used it yet, so I thought this year was the perfect time to remedy the situation. Actually what happened is that I told myself if I didn’t use it this year, I would have to give it away. So this ’tis the season Christmas plaque was created! It’s hanging on my door actually, and what I love about it is that it was made very quickly. You can do this with any wood shape – it doesn’t have to be an ornament. Here’s how I made it.
Gather These Supplies
- Wood ornament shape
- Mod Podge Matte
- Acrylic paint – white
- Tissue paper in a holiday theme
- Adhesive glitter letters
- Christmas embellishments – holiday leaves, brads
- Baker’s twine or ribbon
- Craft glue
This is one of the quickest Christmas projects I’ve ever done. I love it! There’s a Who-ville element to it with the large ornament shape, but with some added glitter and velvet. Elvis would be proud (Burnin’ Love Elvis, anyway). Happy Holidays!
