I have been known to be guilty of drinking a little bit of coffee. And I always feel guilty throwing away the sleeves . . . it’s wasteful. I could knit or crochet one, but what if you can’t knit or crochet (and okay, I can’t crochet)? Here’s a good way to recycle the sleeves you already have – with chalkboard paint. You won’t believe how durable this makes the sleeves. They are already pretty durable, being made from cardboard, but this takes that durability through the roof! Here’s how I did it.
Gather These Supplies
- Coffee sleeves
- Chalkboard paint
- Craft glue
Paint with chalkboard paint. You can stick it on your hand like this if you like it extra messy. If not, just put it down on a piece of paper. Paint several coats until the coffee wrap is completely covered. Let dry.
That’s it. Then you can write on them with chalk! If you are like me, keep these in the car. You can use them for you and your friends at any time. They are so fun, and everyone will say, “who is that cool handmade lady with the upcycled chalkboard coffee sleeves?”
