turkey and biscuit casserole

If you’re a regular here at DIY Candy, you’re no stranger to my love affair with turkey casseroles. They’re like the most dependable friends in your life – comforting, and easy.

We’ve journeyed through the realms of Instant Pot enchilada casseroles, dabbled in the art of skinny turkey casseroles, and even taken a wild ride with a taco casserole. But folks, it’s time to get a little more… adventurous.

This time I’m sharing a recipe for casserole that’s a tad more ‘naughty’ than ‘nice.’ We’re talking the irresistible duo of bacon and BBQ sauce to flavor this thing.

And just when you think it can’t get any better, enter the mighty biscuits. Yes, you read that right – biscuits!

Now, don’t get me wrong, this turkey and biscuit casserole isn’t just good – it’s “hide from your neighbors so you don’t have to share” good.

ground turkey zucchini casserole

We’re tossing in some chopped zucchini to make ourselves feel a bit better about our life choices (because, vegetables).

But then, in a glorious act of defiance, we smother the whole thing in shredded cheddar cheese. It’s a delicious oopsie we’re all willing to make.

So, are you ready to chuckle in the face of culinary norms and cook up a turkey biscuit casserole that’ll have your family smiling all the way to the dinner table?

Tie on that apron and let’s get this hilariously tasty show on the road! Here’s what you’re going to need:

Ingredients

  • 1 package ground turkey
  • 1 zucchini
  • 1 – 1.5 cups of thick, sweet BBQ sauce
  • 1/4 cup yellow mustard
  • 1 can of crescent rolls or biscuits
  • 4-5 strips of bacon
  • 1 cup of shredded cheese

Easy, delicious and keeps well for leftovers! The biscuits have a fluffy buttery flavor, while the BBQ ground turkey mixes sweet and savory together in a glorious package.

My favorite part might be the crispy pieces of bacon on top – right before the gooey cheese.

I love this recipe. I swear I make it at least once a week. I do cook onions with the turkey, use sugar free bbq sauce, reduced fat cheese and crescent dough in a sheet! They make it without it cut, it makes a lot of recipes easier. This recipe is so amazing! Thank you!!!

Thank you for the great feedback Kallie! I think trying it with sugar free BBQ would be awesome . . . I didn't even know that existed!
