A couple weeks ago I went to the cutest girls night out garden party thrown by the amazing Lauren of Pace Made Designs (follow her on all the things… she is amazing). They had classes and shopping and food, and it was at the cutest local nursery, and it was the best time. I took a lettering class (also by Lauren) and learned the coolest things . . . a couple of which I used to make this adorable and simple Color-Stained Frame + Faux DIY Chalkboard Print.
- Black foam core
- Pencil sharpener (with the bigger opening)
- X-Acto knife
- Wood frame
- Craft paint (any color!)
- Clear acrylic or enamel spray
Step 3: Cut your foam core to the size of the frame. This was a tip from Lauren, and I loved the idea of using foam core instead of a chalkboard, because A) its cheap, B) you can make multiple designs and just switch them out, and C) it’s easier to write on than a real chalkboard.
And think – with one foam core board, you could make several designs . . . one for every holiday! What phrases would you like to have displayed at your house? Share your inspiration with me!
