I’ve been seeing these hot glue snowflakes floating around Pinterest and I instantly thought that they would look beautiful as a cake topper. After some trial and error, I figured out an easy way to make these pretty snowflakes. I think these snowflake cake toppers look just lovely for a winter birthday, new year’s celebration or Christmas cake! Stick them in a store bought cake and you can instantly impress your guests!
- Hot Glue Gun
- Wooden Skewers
- Cooking Spray
- Clear Dish
After reading some of the other tutorials, I followed the recommendation to use a clear, smooth surface to make the snowflakes. I tried gluing straight onto a clear dish but quickly realized that the hot glue would not come up for me. So, I sprayed it down with some good old cooking spray and that did the trick. As soon as the glue was cool, the snowflakes came right up. I sketched out some snowflakes on a piece of paper and glued it to the underside of the dish to use as a guide. After I glued the snowflakes, I added another bead of glue and stuck on the skewers and added some more glue on top to make sure they were really secure.
