One of my favorite ways to
waste pass time is to wander around at the craft store and brainstorm ideas of things I can make. When I saw these unfinished wood geometric candle holders on my last visit, I knew I had to get them for a craft. I added a little faux finish, metallic craft paint, and a fake succulent, and now they are the cutest little planters/paperweights, and I love them! Here is how I made these succulent planters . . .
- Geometric wood candle holders
- FolkArt Barnwood Painted Finishes
- Craft paint
- Faux succulents
Step 1: Apply FolkArt Barnwood Tint to candle holders. Let dry 4 hours.
Step 2: Apply FolkArt Barnwood Wax.
Step 3: Remove excess wax using a cloth. Let dry.
Step 4: Tape off and paint the bottom of the candle holders using metallic craft paint. Let dry.
Step 5: Add faux succulents.
Aren’t my succulent planters so cute? I love the combo of the geometric + rustic barnwood + chic metallic + greenery! Now, be sure to visit us as we blog about style, food, and the things we love over at the Pretty Life Girls! You can also find us on Instagram, Facebook, Pinterest, and Twitter!
