Valentine’s Day Sweatshirt in Three Easy Steps

I made myself the perfect festive Valentine’s Day sweatshirt to get ready for the holiday, and I’m going to show you how to make one too (with or without a machine). So simple!

Skills Required: Beginner. You’ll need to be able to use a cutting machine or a craft knife and mat. It’s relatively easy but can take some time to cut the detail if you don’t have a cutting machine.

Valentine's Day Sweatshirt in Three Easy Steps

The Pretty Life Girls here to show you a simple DIY project for one of my favorite holidays for getting crafty: Valentine’s Day! Hooray!

It’s coming quick so I made myself the perfect festive sweatshirt to get ready for love day, and I’m going to show you how to make one too. Here’s what I did:

Pink sweatshirt, print and transfer material, and an iron

Valentine’s Day Sweatshirt

Gather These Supplies

  • Plain sweatshirt, t-shirt, or any kind of solid top
  • Iron-on transfer paper for dark colors (while you can print on this transfer paper, I just used mine straight out of the package which gave me the white design)
  • Cutting machine or craft knife and mat
  • Scissors
  • Iron

Steps:

1. First, you’ll want to choose a design for your shirt. I found mine here.

2. There are a few different methods for getting the design transferred to your shirt.

a) Print off the design from your computer to an inkjet printer, and iron on that design after cutting it out

b) Trace the design onto the iron-on transfer paper and hand cut

c) Use a cutting machine to cut your design

I went with option “c” and used a Silhouette Portrait to cut my design. Whether you have a Silhouette or a Cricut, you’ll do the design the same way.

Note: If your Valentine’s Day sweatshirt design has words like mine, you’ll want to remember to flip your image horizontally so that after you iron it on it will read in the right direction!

3. Iron on your design per your iron-on packaging instructions.

That’s it! It couldn’t be easier and the result are SO cute and festive! I love you, “love you” sweatshirt! I really do!

Do you love my Valentine’s Day sweatshirt? I think it’s perfect for more than just Valentine’s Day. After all, it’s nice to tell people how much you love them every day, right?
