Hi! This is Megan from Homemade Ginger and I’m excited to share another thrifty post with you guys today. I love taking thrift store and garage sale finds and making them work for my home decor. All it takes is a little creativity and willingness to think outside the box. I recently picked up a little mirrored end table at Marshalls on clearance, so I decided to show how to style it 4 different ways using almost all thrift store finds.
The first way I styled my end table was by adding a lamp that I thrifted for $1.99. I was drawn to the lamp base because it is clear and doesn’t take up a lot of visual space. Plus it can transition to work with many different styles. Next, I layered in some stacked vintage books (found at a garage sale) and propped a metal letter that I found at an estate sale.
The next way I styled my table was by adding in a vintage globe. I fell in love with this globe that I scored for $12 and didn’t initially think to add it to an end table. But when it’s paired with a couple of smaller objects on the other side, it creates some asymmetrical balance that works.! The small gold and white plate was from Goodwill for $1 and I just popped on a little clear vase with some faux cotton and twigs in it.
For a more low key look, I used a geometric wooden tray that I scored at a garage sale and spray painted white. It serves as a great place to set down your drink, like this adorable chalkboard mason jar with a lid that I got at the dollar store! I placed the tribal painted basket that I shared awhile back next to the table. (Another thrift store makeover!)
Lastly, I love the look of layering things in front of a piece of art. I just used a framed print and put a few things in front that didn’t take up a lot of visual space. I think this look is my favorite!
Hopefully this gave you some ideas to switch up your decor and hunt for some treasures at your local thrift store – and style an end table of your own. I’m all about creating lovely spaces without spending a lot of money. Feel free to say hi to me over on my blog, Instagram, Facebook or Twitter!
