Delicious Alcoholic Milkshake Infused with Irish Cream

Get an alcoholic milkshake recipe filled with Oreos and ice cream! This Bailey’s milkshake is a perfect boozy adult treat you’ll love. It’s perfect for St. Patrick’s Day and beyond.

Delicious alcoholic milkshake

I’m always in the mood for a good alcoholic milkshake. Whether you spike it, dose it, or flavor it with something fun, it’s a boozy milkshake – you really can’t lose in my humble opinion.

This recipe uses one of my favorites: Bailey’s Irish Cream. And if you love Bailey’s too, check out our Irish White Russian or our boozy ice cream (because why not?).

The particular boozy milkshake is something very special. There are so many things that make it delicious besides the Bailey’s: the banana, the whole milk or coconut milk (your choice). Then add the chocolate syrup, ice cream, and Oreos . . . it’s almost overwhelming!

But not too overwhelming to drink, trust me. I may have tried one for breakfast, and it may have been the most amazing breakfast beverage ever.

It would be perfect for brunch, for a signature party cocktail, or for a decadent dessert. Dunking Oreos into it might be fun as well.

Bailey’s Boozy Milkshake

What is a boozy milkshake exactly? Well – honestly there’s not that much difference between a milkshake with or without alcohol. You’re going to make it exactly the same way, but you’re going to add the booze during the process.

Will I taste the liquor?

The nice thing about a Baileys milkshake (and one of the reasons why people choose to consume their liquor this way) is that you can’t really taste the liquor in it – especially when it’s Bailey’s.

Having said that, this is a pretty subtle drink, and not too strong. If you prefer your drinks a little stronger, you’re welcome to add in any liquor you like. If it’s me, I would add in 1 oz. of vodka to give it more of a White Russian style flavor.

Will I get drunk from this milkshake?

No, likely no. It’s only got two ounces of Bailey’s in it. You might get the tingles but that could also be just the fact that it’s cold.

Can I add additional alcohol to this recipe?

You could also add rum to this frozen dessert and it would taste good, though it wouldn’t be (at least to me) quite as delicious as with vodka. That’s just a personal preference though. Flavored vodka might be good too (marshmallow?!).

I feel like I can taste rum pretty easily, while the advantage of this (in my mind) is that you can’t taste the alcohol so much (just yummy Bailey’s and chocolate!).
