Do you love the look of granny squares but can’t crochet? This DIY crochet pillow is the perfect project – only a little bit of sewing required!
If you love the look of crocheted granny squares but don’t have the time for crochet, I have a shortcut for you!
Warning: Brightly-colored vintage blankets will be harmed in the making of this project.
Turn a Crochet Blanket Into a Pillow
Here’s what you’ll need:
- A super-awesome granny square blanket (I found this one for .99¢!)
- Pillow form
- Your trusty sewing machine
To make your pillow case you basically want to cut around your pillow. I had a case for mine, so I pinned it to the blanket and cut around that. A granny square blanket makes it easy to line up. Cut out one square piece for the front of your pillow.
You want each piece to be slightly larger than half the square so the pillow doesn’t show through the back. Use the blanket edging for a clean finish.
