Follow this simple tutorial to create a color-stained frame and faux DIY chalkboard print, perfect for any holiday or seasonal home decor!
A couple weeks ago I went to the cutest girls night out garden party thrown by the amazing Lauren of Pace Made Designs (follow her on all the things. . . she is amazing). They had classes and shopping and food, and it was at the cutest local nursery, and it was the best time.
I took a lettering class (also by Lauren) and learned the coolest things . . . a couple of which I used to make this adorable and simple Color-Stained Frame + Faux DIY Chalkboard Print.
Gather These Supplies
- Black foam core
- Pencil sharpener (with the bigger opening)
- X-Acto knife
- Wood frame
- Craft paint (any color!)
- Clear acrylic or enamel spray
Step 3: Cut your foam core to the size of the frame. This was a tip from Lauren, and I loved the idea of using foam core instead of a chalkboard, because A) its cheap, B) you can make multiple designs and just switch them out, and C) it’s easier to write on than a real chalkboard.
