I love colorful packaging, and I just can’t throw those pretty boxes in the trash. I decided to turn them into DIY gift tags for Christmas instead!
Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you’ll be able to make these Christmas tags. You’ll be cutting, punching, and gluing – that’s all.

I love colorful product packaging – especially the seasonal teas from Trader Joe’s – I just can’t throw those pretty little boxes in the trash. So I decided to turn them into DIY gift tags instead!

DIY Christmas Gift Tags
To make your own gift tags you’ll need:
- A colorful box
- Scissors
- Hole punch
- Circular paper punch
- Trimmings (ric rac, pom poms, ribbon)
- Glue

Start by cutting out the colored panels of your tea box so you can plan your tags.

Then cut the panels into different shapes for your Christmas tags. I made rectangles out of the polar bear and narwhal, and created tag shapes and used round punches for the rest.

Then use some craft glue to add trimmings to your DIY gift tags. Press them down until they are fully adhered.

Let dry and trim excess with scissors. You can use thin ribbon or baker’s twine to adhere the tags to your gifts.

Now you’re ready to tag those Christmas gifts! And it’s a simple way to go green and save some money during the holidays.
