This DIY ombre crate is the perfect storage solution for your tabletop needs! Use it to store bills, receipts, books, and more – easy to make and so cute.
I have this spot in my kitchen where we pile EVERYTHING – mail, magazines, half-eaten kid snacks, receipts, sunglasses. Do you have one of these spots!?
Well, it has been driving me crrrrrazy, so I decided to incorporate a storage solution to clean it up. I saw a blank crate on clearance at the store and immediately had a plan for this DIY Ombre Heart Crate, where I could throw (and hide) all our junk.
It is super easy to make and my kitchen looks soooo much better! Here is how I did it.
DIY Ombre Heart Crate
Supplies
- Wood crate
- Craft paint (white, light gray, dark gray)
- Stencil
- Stencil brush
Step 1: Mix your paints into four shades.
Step 2: Line up and secure your stencil on the crate.
Step 3: Apply the lightest shade of paint.
Step 4: Let dry and remove the stencil.
Repeat with the next color . . .
and the next . . .
and the next!
