Snowflake crafts are a blast for new years! You don’t need any special tools to cut out these “Happy 2016” snowflakes, and kids will love making them too.
Do you love snowflake crafts? How would you like to cut out two very special “Happy 2016” snowflakes to ring in the New Year?
Howdy! This is Leslie from Pink Stripey Socks. Every winter, I find myself cutting and taping up dozens of lacy, paper flakes all over our home.
With 2016 just around the corner, I came up with these two “Happy 2016” snowflake crafts! Aren’t they gorgeous?
And here’s the kicker – they’re easy to cut out. You don’t need any special tools. A pair of sharp scissors and good steady hands will do!
Here’s what you’ll need to cut out these Happy New Year Snowflakes!
• Computer Paper
• Pencil (with eraser)
Step 1: First, you’ll need to turn your rectangular sheet of computer paper into a square sheet of paper. Fold a corner up to a side. Press down.
Step 2: Fold the excess bit back and trim it off.
Step 3: Open up your sheet. You should now have a square piece of paper. Fold the paper in half. It should look like a rectangle.
Step 4: Fold the paper in half again. Now it should look like a little square.
Step 5: Fold the paper in half again. Now it should look like a little triangle (the middle of the paper is the triangle’s bottom corner). Sketch your words and numbers in with a pencil as shown below.
Step 6: Now, proceed to cut out the snowflakes according to the shown designs. For each design, the middle of the paper is the bottom corner.
Once you’re done, open up your designs to reveal a lovely, lacy New Year’s message! This fun New Year’s Craft is sure to wow young and old alike.
If you have kids, definitely let them have a go at it too. Older kids could cut these out themselves, while younger kids might enjoy making these cute DIY Party Horn Photo Props!
I hope you have a wonderful time celebrating 2016 with the whole family! Happy making and happy 2016!
