Learn how to make a tie tack from a screw – it’s easy! Great for any guy that wants to make a statement. This is the perfect gift for Father’s Day.
It’s a tie tack that is made from an actual screw! Kinda cool because it looks like there’s a screw going through the tie.
If you’ve got the right power tool (or know someone who does) these are really cheap and easy to make as well. A great gift for Dad or Grandpa!
How to Make a Tie Tack
- blank tie tack
- Dremel Tool
- strong glue
Use the Dremel Tool to cut the head off the screw. This will create some heat and sparks, so be sure to use the proper skin and eye protection. Also make sure there is nothing flammable around. I recommend putting the base of the screw in a clamp while cutting.
If the back of your screw is a little uneven, just do your best to help it stay straight. Once it has dried a bit, you can adjust it a little, and add more glue around it with a toothpick.
