I have a confession: when I was younger, I didn’t like fruit in my desserts. There were “rules” around fruit being a healthy snack . . . chocolate was more of a dessert to me. I wouldn’t eat pie, and I would’ve laughed at a cobbler.
I will admit, I was so wrong.
I remember being in college when I discovered how amazing a piece of pie was with vanilla ice cream. This is funny, but I won’t ever forget the type of pie: razzleberry pie. My opinion on fruit desserts changed at that moment, for better or worse (my hips don’t always agree with that choice). I now can find joy in fruit dessert recipes, instead of being judgy. I guess we all grow up at some point?

When is Fruit in Season?
Most fruit can be purchased in the grocery store all year, but this is a list of what can be found in season. It’s not everything, but it covers most fruits you might want to put in desserts, generally speaking. It doesn’t mean you can’t buy these fruits at other times, but it is when they are at their best.
