pineapple salsa

Have you ever tried pineapple salsa? I know, I know. I’ll be the first to admit, it’s a recipe that sounds like it was invented during a particularly wild game of culinary bingo.

The base is a group of ingredients that probably wouldn’t hang out together under normal circumstances, all thrown into a salsa shindig.

There’s pineapple, bell pepper, onion, jalapeno, and cilantro. It’s like inviting both the class clown and the honor student to the same party and watching the sparks fly.

Back in the day, my great-grandfather was the self-appointed sheriff of “Flavor Town,” laying down the law on what foods could or couldn’t do. Cold pasta for breakfast? Scandalous! Fruit mingling with savory? Unthinkable!

But here we are, in the bold new world where pineapples and jalapenos not only meet, but they create a salsa that’s the life of the party.

This recipe is a bit of a rebel, breaking all those traditional food rules. It’s the kind of appetizer that would make my great-grandfather raise an eyebrow, but let’s be honest, that’s half the fun.

And if spicy isn’t your thing, no worries – just leave it out and enjoy the milder side of life.

The beauty of this pineapple and jalapeno salsa is in its simplicity and its culinary “flair.” It’s perfect for those days when you want to add a tropical twist to your BBQ or bring some zing to your chip-dipping routine.

Initially what caught my attention was the photos, they're beautiful. They pulled me in and I am so glad they did. I don't have any food rules, with the exception of the most important food rule of all. THE FOOD MUST BE DELICIOUS! That's all I ask, is that so hard? And this pineapple salsa looks like it may do the job just fine. I am definitely going to try this one for sure. Thank you, Amy!
