Celebrate your air plant obsession with these unique plaster ornaments that can go in your home or on the tree. These would make super cute gifts, too!I don’t know about you, but I am mildly obsessed with air plants. I love how versatile and delicate they are! Since I kill any plant under the sun, even succulents, I was super excited when I found some faux air plants at the craft store.

I came up with these cute little air plant ornaments using plaster as a way to incorporate them into my Christmas decor! This project is so versatile that these little guys could be left up well after Christmas.

You could also add a magnet to the back and stick them on the fridge. They couldn’t be easier to make!

Air Plant Ornaments

For this project you will need:

  • Air plants (real or fake)
  • Twine
  • Plaster
  • Small paper cups

(I found my tiny cups at the dollar store.) While the plaster is still wet, insert a piece of twine into the sides or a loop at the top.

Take a pencil, pen, marker lid, crayon or any long cylinder and wrap it with a bit of plastic wrap. Stick it in the middle of the plaster while it is still wet.

When the plaster is dry, take out the pencil and you have a perfect hole for your air plant to live. The plastic wrap makes it easier to remove the pencil without damaging the plaster.
