I came across this old wooden medicine cabinet on my latest trip to the thrift store, and I immediately saw the potential. I’m not a big fan of painting though, so I used some chalk paint to spruce it up fast. Take a look at how I repurposed it into a new vanity cabinet.
- Wet rag
- Folk Art chalk paint and brush
- Painter’s tape
The great thing about chalk paint, is that minimal prep is needed. Just wipe down all the surfaces and you’re ready. Take off any hardware and tape off the mirror, then paint. I used two layers of Folk Art chalk paint in Grotto, drying in between each layer.
I love the vibrant color and that I didn’t have to do any tedious sanding for this project. The towel bar on the cabinet is perfect for hanging necklaces, and I’ll be stashing some of my everyday faves like essential oils, bobby pins, and my sunglasses inside.
