This cherry whiskey sour recipe combines bourbon, cherry juice, citrus, and homemade cherry simple syrup for a sweet-tart cocktail that's easy to make and perfect for happy hour.

Cherry Whiskey Sour 2 oz bourbon whiskey 1 oz cherry juice 1 oz cherry simple syrup 1/2 oz lemon juice 1/2 oz lime juice Ice cube(s) 1 egg white optional Maraschino cherries and orange slice for garnish
Make the simple syrup by combining the juice, sugar, and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Heat until dissolved, then cool completely.
Add bourbon, cherry juice, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker.
Add ice and shake again for 30 seconds.
Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
If using an egg white, add to the empty shaker and shake for a minute to build foam, then pour on top of cocktail.
Garnish with maraschino cherries and an orange slice. Serve immediately.
Add a splash of seltzer for a lighter version.
Leftover simple syrup is fantastic over ice cream.
This recipe makes one drink, but can easily be doubled for a crowd.
