Ingredients

Cherry Whiskey Sour

  • 2 oz bourbon whiskey
  • 1 oz cherry juice
  • 1 oz cherry simple syrup
  • 1/2 oz lemon juice
  • 1/2 oz lime juice
  • Ice cube(s)
  • 1 egg white optional
  • Maraschino cherries and orange slice for garnish

Cherry Simple Syrup

Instructions

  • Make the simple syrup by combining the juice, sugar, and pinch of salt in a saucepan. Heat until dissolved, then cool completely.
  • Add bourbon, cherry juice, simple syrup, fresh lemon juice, and lime juice to a cocktail shaker.
  • Add ice and shake again for 30 seconds.
  • Strain into a rocks glass filled with fresh ice.
  • If using an egg white, add to the empty shaker and shake for a minute to build foam, then pour on top of cocktail.
  • Garnish with maraschino cherries and an orange slice. Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Add a splash of seltzer for a lighter version.
  • Leftover simple syrup is fantastic over ice cream.
  • This recipe makes one drink, but can easily be doubled for a crowd.
