Doily Bowls

Learn how to make bowls using doilies! These lace bowls use fabric stiffener and are great for holidays.

Equipment

  • 2 Bowl(s) a little larger than the bowl size you want to make
  • Small plastic container

Ingredients

  • 2 Doilies any size, any color
  • Fabric stiffener like Mod Podge Stiffy
  • Aluminum foil or plastic wrap or both

Instructions

  • Cover a bowl with aluminum foil or plastic wrap. Cover a cookie sheet at the same time.

  • Add fabric stiffener to a plastic bowl - enough to cover the doilies when they are submerged.

  • Add a doily to the stiffener and push it around. Take it out of the Stiffy and squeeze out the excess.

  • Take the doily out of the liquid and squeeze out the excess. Spread the doily out on the bowl, making sure to center it. Wrap the doily around the sides of the bowl and press down. Repeat with a second doily.

  • Place the bowls on the covered cookie sheet and place somewhere to dry overnight.

  • Release the doilies from the bowls to use.
