If you are looking for a healthier alternative to regular fried chicken, try this yummy oven fried chicken recipe. Crispy, crunchy, delicious!

Hands down, one of my favorite comfort foods is fried chicken. I can eat that all day, every day.
Even though eating fatty foods is good for my metabolism (which I know not a lot of people can say), it’s not so good for the rest of my family.
Whenever I can, instead of frying something, I like to toss it into the oven. That’s the inspiration for this oven fried chicken recipe!
Here’s how you can make herb infused crispy chicken with stuff you have on hand and in a healthier way than the frying pan.
Oven Baked Fried Chicken
Ingredients
- Package of chicken drumsticks (this one had six)
- 1 cup of milk
- 1 cup of Chex cereal
- 1 tbsp parmesan cheese
- 1 tsp dried oregano
- 1-1 1/2 tsp Adobo seasoning
- Salt & pepper to taste

In a small bowl, break up the Chex cereal with your hands into small pieces. Add in the parmesan, oregano, Adobo, salt & pepper. Mix it well.

In a separate small bowl, pour in the milk. Wash the chicken and dry them on a paper towel. Dip the drumsticks into the milk then into the Chex herb mixture.
Make sure to sprinkle the mixture all over the drumstick, pressing firmly with your fingertips.

Lay foil out on a 9 x 13 baking sheet, sprinkle with cooking spray and arrange the drumsticks on the sheet. You can either wrap them for the next day, freeze them in a baggie or cook right then.

I do a salad or if I’m feeling fancy I whip up some buttery mashed potatoes and cheesy zucchini.
Bake at 425 degrees for 25 – 30 minutes or until golden brown. Then serve the oven fried chicken with your favorite sides and enjoy!
The butter and cheese might not make the dish as healthy as it could be but hey, we are talking comfort foods after all!

Do I have to use whole milk? Can I use almond milk or soy milk?

I've actually used fat free milk for this which is a lot thinner - so I would say absolutely :D
