There’s something about having your alcohol in a dessert format that makes it seem – different. Maybe less sinful? Or maybe the appeal is that you consume both dessert and alcohol at the same time!

And that’s exactly what you get with these boozy popsicles – an icy, refreshing, delicious treat that includes a little wine and a little vodka.

What really makes it for me is the blueberry, quite honestly. I LOVE blueberry. There are all kinds of simple syrup, but blueberry is my favorite – and this one is very easy to make! Here’s how to do it.

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups blueberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ½ cup Moscato
  • 2 ounces Kinky Blue
  • 1 ounce of honey (optional)

Tools

Directions:

  1. To make blueberry simple syrup use a medium sauce pan, add one cup of water, one cup of sugar and two cups of blueberries. Mash blueberries with a muddler or fork to release juice. Bring mixture to a rolling boil and stir. Boil for 2 minutes. Remove pan from heat and cover with a lid.
  2. Let mixture steep for 10 minutes. Strain mixture through a fine sieve into a medium-size bowl and chill in the refrigerator to cool.
  3. Add Moscato and Kinky Blue to the blueberry simple syrup mixture (add honey if using) and stir.
  4. Place popsicle cups into the popsicle mold, then pour mixture to the fill-line. Repeat until all of the popsicles cups are filled. Then insert the bottom cap and popsicle stick into place and freeze.
  5. Freeze the boozy popsicles for 3 – 5 hours or until firm.

You can also make the drink pictured by skipping the popsicle step and pouring it into a glass with ice.

Oh, these look absolutely delicious. Too bad we're just heading into winter in Australia. But as soon as blueberries are back in season I'm trying these out.

I think they would be perfect for a summer party as well. I need to stop dreaming, it's freezing :-(

Thanks for sharing Amy!
