Use your stash of wine corks to make your own DIY cork board! This cute craft can be put on the wall, doorknob, or fridge (with magnets).
Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you’ll be able to accomplish this project. You’ll be painting and hot gluing corks.
Everything’s cuter when it’s tiny, isn’t it? So grab some corks out of your stash and a few extra supplies to make your own mini DIY cork board — the perfect size for mini love notes.
What’s great about this cork board? You can make it as large as you like. The only thing limiting you (technically) is 1) your own ability to drink wine or 2) your ability to source corks from friends that drink wine.
And that won’t be limiting, will it? 😀
I’ve only used eight wine corks for this board, but you can use as many as you like. My DIY cork board was made mini because I just wanted a place to hang daily to-dos and a few other items. I didn’t need anything large.
Mini Cork Board
With most wine corks being around 3/4″ in diameter and 1 1/2″ long, here’s what you can anticipate in terms of number of corks needed. My eight-cork board is pretty much a 3″ square.
- 6″ x 9″ – 48
- 12″ x 18″ – 192
- 16″ x 20″ – 297 (you’ll need to do some cork cutting)
- 18″ x 24″ – 384
Once you’ve recycled your corks, you might want to clean them. Once you’re ready you can begin the project by pulling together all your supplies.
Gather These Supplies
- Eight even-sized corks
- Hot glue gun
- Acrylic paint
- Small eyelet screws
- Paintbrush
- Yarn
Start by hot gluing all of your corks together. Place a thin line of hot glue down the edge of one cork . . .
And then press together quickly. Hold until the corks stick together (which should take seconds).
Repeat with the remaining corks, until you have build the cork board to be the size and shape that you like.
Use a paintbrush to apply acrylic paint to the corks. Let dry, flip, and repeat. Do this until the corks have the coverage you desire. Let dry.
Twist in your eyelet screws. Increase the size of your eyelet screws if you increase the size of your cork board.
add some yarn, and voilà! You’ve got the cutest little DIY cork board ever.
This would make a perfect door hanger, or you could even put a magnet on the back to add it to your fridge instead!
Where would you put your mini cork board? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this project in the comments!

Paige, I do know some of the craft stores sell them, or Amazon, if you really have a hankering :D

I would love to put one mini corkkboard outside of each of my kids' rooms. Maybe leave them a cute note or friendly reminders to clean up their room ;)
