Those who know me know that I’m a sucker for sugar. I try to keep my cravings in control, but let’s face it – sugar is tasty. There’s no more sugary treat than cotton candy . . . it’s basically a spun sugar recipe!

Cotton candy reminds me of fun times with my family at the state fair, and warmer weather, and that’s the entire inspiration behind this cotton candy rice crispy treats recipe.

Rice Crispy Treats Recipe

1. In a large pot, melt butter over low heat. Add marshmallows and stir until completely melted.

2. Remove from heat and add cereal. Break up the cotton candy into small pieces and sprinkle on top.

3. Stir cereal and cotton candy in with the marshmallows until everything is coated. Some of the cotton candy will melt, some won’t. It’s the chunks of cotton candy that flavor it! Delicious!

4. Line a 9×13 pan with parchment paper and pour the mixture into the pan. Place a second piece of parchment paper on top and press down into the pan.

5. Sit at room temperature until completely cool.

6. Trim off the edges and cut into 12 bars. I like to trim off the edges to create a more uniform look.

7. In two separate bowls, melt the blue discs and the white discs. (Make sure the bowl with the white coating is big enough to lay the bars in face down).

8. Press the bars into the white coating. Tick the end of a spoon into the blue coating and drizzle over the top of the white. Top with sprinkles.

9. Chill for 1-2 minutes until the coating has hardened.
