Weight Watchers Chili Recipe for ZERO Points!

This healthy three bean and ground lean meat Weight Watchers chili recipe is ZERO points on the Freestyle and My WW Blue program! It’s filling and delicious. Make in the pressure cooker, Instant Pot, or crockpot!

You can also scroll down to the bottom of the post to get the recipe card and a video of how this delicious WW turkey chili is made.

ZERO Points Weight Watchers Chili Recipe

I’m so excited to share this Weight Watchers chili recipe. When I say that we eat this chili every single day, I’m not exaggerating. I like Weight Watchers dinner recipes not just because they are low calorie, but they make me feel full when I usually get hungry at night. This is one of those chilis that will leave you feeling satisfied!

We make this turkey chili in our pressure cooker and then eat out of the container for lunch or dinner – and then we repeat the process. It’s a great one for meal prep because it stores well and lasts all week. I will put this up against any classic chili recipe!

Why? Because it’s easy to make, quick (though you can make it in a slow cooker), and inexpensive. AND of course, because it has ZERO Weight Watchers Freestyle Points (get the full list of zero point foods here).

That means if I have this turkey chili for a meal with a steamed veggie or fruit side, I’ve got a zero point meal. Low calorie, low fat. Boom!

WW Chili Recipe

I joined Weight Watchers several months ago before switch to the Freestyle program. I had just gotten used to the SmartPoints and was hesitant about Freestyle at first, but now I’ve embraced it and I love that the points roll over and also that I get some “freebie” foods.

And that’s where this Weight Watchers chili recipe comes into play! I’ve been working on this recipe for a while, testing different ingredients until I found something I liked.

Note: the meat must be 99% fat free to be ZERO points. I rotate between chicken and turkey (depending on what I’m craving), but it’s always 99% fat free. If you decide to do a different meat, you’ll need to add that to your recipe and recalculate the points!

Points By Program

If you aren’t on the Freestyle program, here’s a quick guide to the WW points for this particular recipe. As I said, the program I am on is Freestyle, so that’s the point value I use.

  • Freestyle – 0 points
  • MyWW
    • Blue Plan (same as Freestyle) – 0 points
    • Green Plan – 7 points
  • Old Points – 5 points
  • SmartPoints – 7 points

Ingredients and Garnish

While this recipe is great as-is, I also like to add any veggies from the kitchen that I need to use up. I’ve added, at various times: sweet potatoes, carrots, bell peppers, corn, zucchini, and more. If the veggies have points, you’ll have to add those, but so many don’t.

Keep in mind that if you add anything to what is already here, you might need to add some chicken broth or beef broth to keep the consistency right. This is a great recipe for making “your own” – and it’s nearly impossible to mess up.

Once this turkey chili is made, don’t forget to add garnishments (which may add to the points value). Depending on the day, I might add tortilla chips, chives, reduced fat cheese, or light sour cream.

This WW chili recipe is easy and SO DELICIOUS even just as is, but you have a lot of options. You’re going to love this recipe and want to include it as part of your regular meal plan. Especially in fall and winter.

Slow Cooker or Pressure Cooker

One other thing to note about this recipe – I made it in the slow cooker at first, but I much prefer it in the pressure cooker.

Funny side note: I got this Crock-Pot 6Qt pressure cooker but it took me awhile to get brave enough to use the pressure cooking functions. It slow cooks as well, so that’s what I did for weeks before I finally got the onions to push the Beans/Chili button.

I can tell a difference in slow cooking vs. pressure cooking with this recipe. Slow cooked chili tastes better to me the next day after the flavors have had a chance to meld.

In the pressure cooker, this Weight Watchers chili recipe tastes great immediately! Here’s how to make it.

Easy Chili Recipe

Ingredients

  • Ground lean chicken or ground lean turkey – l lb (must be 99% free to be zero points!)
  • 2 15 oz. cans kidney beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 15 oz. cans black beans, drained and rinsed
  • 2 15 oz. cans pinto beans, drained and rinsed
  • 3 10 oz. cans Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies
  • 15 oz. can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 T cumin
  • 1/2 T oregano
  • 1 T chili powder
  • Cayenne pepper (pinch, if you like hot)
  • 2 – 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 1 lime, quartered

Directions

Pressure Cooker or Instant Pot Instructions

1. Place the ground lean meat in your pressure cooker or Instant Pot. Use the Sauté or Brown function on your device to cook the meat.

2. Pour all of the other ingredients into the pressure cooker except the lime. Quarter your lime and squeeze the juice into the pot. Throw the rind away.

3. Select the Beans/Chili button or Meat/Stew button. Start your machine. Make sure the pressure valve is closed. It will cook for 20 – 35 minutes depending on the machine you use (mine is 20!).

4. Release the pressure from your cooker and serve.

Slow Cooker Instructions

1. Cut up the onion.

2. Spray a cooking pan with fat free cooking spray, and sauté the onion on high heat for a few minutes.

3. Add the lean ground meat to the pan and cook until the meat is brown (stirring occasionally), about 5 – 7 minutes.

4. Pour the meat (with the juices) and the onions into the slow cooker.

5. Pour all of the other ingredients into the slow cooker except the lime. Quarter your lime and squeeze the juice into the pot. Throw the rind away.

6. Cook your chili on high for 3 1/2 – 4 hours.

7. Serve this homemade chili right away!

NOTE: If you’re on the SmartPoints or myWW Green program, this chili is 7 points per serving. Any additional garnishments will have to be calculated based on the WW program you’re in; this is a Freestyle recipe.

  1. Hi, Amy. This recipe looks delish and it is cooking as I’m writing this. I had to guess, though, at the spices. In the recipe as printed in the body of the article, you specify 1 T Cumin, 1 T oregano and 1 1/2 T chili powder. In the printable recipe below, it’s 1/2 T cumin, 1/2 T oregano and 1 T chili powder. Are these two different recipes? And which set of measurements do you prefer? Thanks!

    1. Thank you for catching that! It’s the lesser – 1/2 T cumin, 1/2 T oregano, and 1 T chili powder. I tend to like things spicy and I got inquiries about that, so I lessened the spice to make it more comfortable for the general public lol! 😀

      1. Ha ha, I totally missed the “lesser” aspect of the recipe and did the full tablespoons and more with the spices….I brought it to a July 4th party (with the turkey on the side so that vegetarians could enjoy the chili as well) and it was a HUGE hit! There wasn’t enough….people were searching for more. I have never had that experience when bringing food to a party.

Now I’m going to make it for my family tonight!

        Thank you!

        Katie

        1. OMG yay! Thank you for the awesome feedback Katie! I just made it two days ago. We never get tired of it – not sure how 😀

    2. Oh my, does my kitchen smell good right now, and the chili came out Lovely on this cold day. I got the dreaded ‘Burn’ message on the IP, so I cancelled, released the pressure, stirred then reset to : Manual Pressure Low, for 35 minutes, Less Settings. It did not Burn after that and came out fine. I let it Naturally Release for 10 minutes. (I Love ❤️ my IP. ) Thx for this Healthy recipe.

      1. I made this In my instant pot for tomorrow’s Super Bowl. It cooked for 35 minutes. It takes good bit is a little soupy. Where did I go wrong?

        1. Hi Elissa! It really depends on the water in the tomatoes you use. I find that storing it overnight thickens it up a bit (or lets you take off some of the water). As a backup, you can add a bit of flour or cornstarch.

  2. The recipe states 10 servings… Can you provide a single serving portion, i.e., is it 1 cup or 1.5 cups aproximately? Thanks 🙂

  3. This look great. What is the portion size? I know it says serves 10 but wondered if you have a cup size you use. Thanks

  4. This looks delicious, but I wonder how it can be zero points as according to the flex plan, ground chicken/turkey has points unless it is 99% fat free.

    1. Hi Genie! So next time I make it – which is in the next few days – I’m going to calculate the calories. I’ll update the recipe at that time!

    1. I just entered the nutritional values in my WW app calculator and it shows 7 points per 1 serving?

      1. Hi Julie – you can’t enter nutritional values on the Freestyle program for all foods (I specify this is a Freestyle recipe). There is a zero points list to reference – those items have nutritional value but they are still zero points. You can use the recipe builder and it will give you the correct total. If you are on smart points, it won’t be zero points 😀

        1. I’m entering this in weight watchers recipe and it’s telling me that the tablespoon of chili powder is 1 point?? I thought the recipe was zero points??

          1. The 1 TBSP would be divided amongst 10 servings – so you’d have to eat the entire pot for it to be a point. Otherwise it’s 1/10th of a point 🙂

  5. Would you happen to know the calories for each serving? Also where do you purchase your meat? The best I can find so far is 94% fat free.

    1. Hi Ashley! Next time I make it, I’ll calculate the calories so check back! And I get my meat from Fred Meyer (Kroger). They always have (at the minimum, at least at mine) 99% fat free turkey breast, ground. That’s what you want. 😀

  6. This was a very easy recipe! I have never made chili in my pressure cooker before but it tasted great. I did add 1 Tbls. of salt & another Tbls. of chili powder as I thought it needed a little more flavor.

    1. Awesome! I definitely like it with more flavor too . . . some people think it’s too spicy as is :0. I need to adjust the instructions to indicate you can add more or less depending on individual tastes 😀

  7. Hi,
This is only the second time I’ve used my Instant Pot so was excited to find this recipe as I also started WW this week. I decided to omit the meat from the recipe and I think it caused a problem:( I put everything else in and set it to beans/chili. After a few minutes it went to “burn”, then it went back to “on”, then a few minutes later “burn” again. I’ve seen other people have trouble with spaghetti, if the sauce is on the bottom. I stirred everything up before I started it too. Do you think this recipe is doable in the Instant Pot without meat? Any suggestions?

    1. I think the reason it burns is that this recipe does not have at least 1 cup of liquid. When I make recipes like this I add 1 cup of chicken broth (salt/sugar free), But, it’s best to look at your equipment manual and it will tell you how much liquid is required.

      1. With the juice in the tomatoes it should be over 1 cup liquid, but it does help to add some chicken broth. It’s weird – the consistency is NEVER the same every time I make it. It’s close, and I usually don’t have to add extra lquid, but I do find that interesting 🙂

  8. OMG, after submitting my comment I found your vegetarian version!!! Thank you! I’ll try that one! Still not sure why my Instant Pot said “burn” though.

    1. Lori so it’s interesting – only one time has my pressure cooker given me the E6 error code, which is basically the same as the Burn code on an Instant Pot. It’s telling you there isn’t enough liquid. I’m using the exact same ingredients EVERY time and I’ve made it about 20 times!! In that case, I would keep either chicken broth or vegetable broth on hand and add about 1 cup when you get that message. When I did get the error message on mine, I added that 1 cup of chicken broth and it was fine. I JUST made it again last night and no error code – exact same ingredients. Probably depends on how much “juice” is in the meat or veggies one time versus another, plus the tomato cans? I always have broth in case it gets testy 😀

  9. Hi! Thanks so much for this!! Do you know if it’s ok to freeze a few portions and reheat? I’m usually cooking for one, so I’m trying to figure out which things I can prep and freeze 🙂 Thank you!!

  10. I made this tonight after finding the recipe today!! This is THE best chili I’ve ever made:)
Thank you for posting this!! I can see this being a staple in my weekly diet:)

  11. Tried using instapot….probably my cooking..but burn display popped up..I deglazed, added a cup of broth…just feel bad about wasting all those ingredients …what do you think happened? I was so looking forward for this dish for lunch this week ????????

    1. Hi Loli! Interesting . . . So I’ve had that a few times out of probably 50 times making it, but when I add the broth, it’s fine. It doesn’t actually burn anything. Did yours burn? And what setting did you try it on (was it Beans/Chili)?

      1. If you are using an instant pot, you need at least 1/2 cup of liquid and put the tomatoes last (on top). To avoid the burn display, avoid having the tomatoes in the bottom. Hope this helps.

  12. I noticed that in your directions for the slow cooker you say to saute the onions with the meat but not for the pressure cooker. Is there a reason for dumping the onions in raw in the pressure cooker? I’m eager to try this it sounds yummy!

    1. Hi Bonnie! I should’ve made a note about that. But what I noticed in the slow cooker versus the pressure cooker is that the slow cooker didn’t get the onions quite as done. They weren’t crispy but they weren’t fully cooked. I’m sure I could’ve slow cooked longer, but it was just easier to shortcut that with the meat. In the pressure cooker, the onions were completely done in just a few minutes. I can only attribute it to the pressure versus the slow cooking!

  13. Great recipe- thanks! I ground up chicken breasts in my food processor, worked wonderfully. We used this recipe for chili dogs. Used Hebrew National 99% fat free hot dogs for 1 point!

  14. Made this Chili in the slow cooker, gave some to my daughter(didn’t tell her it was WW). She called and said her and her husband loved it, thought it was the best chili. ???? WOW, am definitely keeping this in my arsenal of WW recipes!

  15. I made this in a pot on the stove and it came out great. I love this recipe, it was very simple to make too!

  16. I’m making this right now on stovetop. It seems very thick. What can I add to make it less thick. How would I calculate the points since I used plainville organic ground turkey. It has 4 points for 4 ozs. I used 1 lb as recipe called for.

    1. Hi there! You can add more chicken broth to make it less thick. If you used turkey that isn’t 99% fat free and it’s 16 points for a pound, then it would be two points per serving (1 1/3 cups).

      1. Nowhere on this recipe does it say chicken broth but in a comment you said she could add more. I’m making this now and there’s no juice. Please help as this is a ton of money I don’t want to waste if it burns

        1. Hi Michelle! You shouldn’t need chicken broth, but with a pressure cooker, I’d have some on hand. I’ve made this recipe at least 50 times and maybe 2 times I’ve needed it. The reason is because the amount of liquid you get in canned goods is not always exactly the same. Plus a pressure cooker doesn’t cook exactly the same every single time. With any pressure cooker recipe I prepare for a little inconsistency, however slight. If you find you’re getting an error message because it’s too thick, and you don’t have broth, just add a little water and stir. It’ll still taste good and be fine!

  17. Hi, I made this over the weekend for my lunches this week. Now I am confused by nutrition content above.. if I add that to the calculator I get 7 points or is that information for the whole batch of chili. And 1 1/13 cups is ZERO points on Freestyle program? Thanks so much, it’s dellicous.

    1. Hi Christine – you have to use the Freestyle recipe builder. If you are using the nutritional information in the calculator, it’s not going to account for zero point foods on the Freestyle program. If you use the recipe builder and you are on the Freestyle program in your app or online, it will come out to be zero. If you are on Smart Points, it won’t be zero (but it will still be low in points relatively speaking).

    1. Hi Kathleen! You don’t pressure cook the meat – you use the brown function which basically turns the pot into a cookpot. So you leave the lid off and stir the ground meat around (breaking it into pieces) while it cooks.

  18. First thing I made in my Instant Pot 6 quart Ultra. Looked like a lot of ingredients so I split cooking it into 2 batches. Is this receipe for a 6 quart or 8 quart? Either way tasted great! Thank you.

    1. It’s for a six quart and just fits. It does look like a lot of ingredients! Somehow it all works. Glad you liked it.

  19. Very good and tasty. I’ve made this a few times and love it! I messed up this time and used 93% lean instead of 99%. Did not notice this until I started cooking it. Would you please tell me what the point value is now that i used this 93% lean instead of the 99% lean?

    Thank you,
    Debra

    1. Hi Debra! There would be 12 points in a pound . . . therefore you would divide the 12 by 8 – so it would be 1.5 points per serving. Not sure how you handle the half points so maybe just eat more LOL!

  20. Hi. Does the T in your recipe stand for Tablespoon or Teaspoon? I will be making it this weekend can’t wait

  21. I love this chili but when I entered it into the WW calculator, it cane out to 7 points! What did I do wrong? Please assure me that it’s really zero because I gobble it down!

    1. Hi Barbara! Are you on the SmartPoints program or Freestyle? I indicate in the first paragraph that it’s Freestyle – you know, I need to add the SmartPoints to this blog post for those who want it!
Having said that, you have to enter it into the recipe builder for it to show zero points if you are on Freestyle. You can’t just use nutritional information because of the zero point foods. Thanks and I’m glad you love it!!

      1. I just now saw that as I was scrolling down to see if there was a reply. Thank you so very much for the reply. I am doing freestyle and I’ll sleep better tonight because I absolutely love this chili.

  22. I can only find 97% lean ground turkey? What would the points value be for that? When I try to calculate it looks strange! Thanks!

    1. Hi Haley! It’s 2 points per 4 oz, so 8 points per 1 lb. package. So I’d give yourself 1 point per serving for the 97%.

  23. I accidentally got twice the meat and half the beans at the store. Should I scrap it or do you think it would work with 2 lbs of meat and only 3 cans of beans?

    1. I absolutely think it would still work! It will be a meatier chili, but it’ll still be good, in my opinion.

  24. Hi I am making this right now and I was wondering how it can be zero points with the kidney beans being 3 points and the rotelle tomatoes being 1 point . Thank you

    1. Shelly – are you doing Freestyle? This is a Freestyle recipe (see beginning of post) not SmartPoints. Kidney beans not packed in oil are zero points. Same with tomatoes.

  25. I have a question. I have this in my slow cooker right now – with about an hour and a half left to go in cooking. At a glance, there does not seem to be enough liquid and I followed your recipe exactly. The pictures posted with the recipe look like there is plenty of liquid. Will there be more liquid as this finishes cooking or do I need to add something?
    Thanks!

    1. Hi Julie! So out of about 30 – 40 batches I’ve made of this (maybe more), probably 3 have had not enough liquid. In that case, add some chicken broth and stir (if you don’t have broth, just add a little water). I have NO IDEA why some batches are like that. My guess is because in the Rotel tomatoes there is a varying amount of liquid. I can’t think of any other reason, as I am buying the EXACT same ingredients (including brand of beans) every single time. Could also be the amount of liquid the meat releases too?

  26. Cooked this chili last night for tonights supper. Absolutely delicious!!!! I was somewhat skeptical using ground turkey. However, I’m now a believer. Thanks so much for sharing this recipe.
    Natalie from Georgia

  27. I make this regularly. When I finish, I make more. I add some low sodium broth to it.
I love this and recommend it highly.

    1. Hi Vicky – you can’t use the nutritional information into Weight Watchers for the Freestyle program – you have to use the recipe builder so the Freestyle zero point foods record correctly. Thanks!

  28. Hi, I have a question. I made this recipe in a crockpot and followed the recipe exactly. The flavor was good but very dry. What do you think happened?

    1. Hi Virginia! This did happen to me ONE time in all the times I’ve made it. I’m not sure why it did that, because I’ve made this at least 100 times! I recommend stirring in chicken broth next time. That’s what I did the time it happened.

  29. I think this is some of the best chili I have ever eaten. I used ground chicken breast (which I ground myself). The spices were perfect. Can’t wait till tomorrow when I’m sure it will be even better!

  30. Hi,
I would love to make this, but I can’t seem to find Rotel Original Diced Tomatoes & Green Chilies. (in Canada) What can I use instead?
    Thanks 🙂

    1. Hi Rita! You can just use regular diced tomatoes – and if you like a little heat, you can throw in some green chiles you find separately in the International/Mexican section of the grocery. If you don’t like heat as much, don’t even worry about the green chiles 😀

    2. @Rita, I just bought three cans in Canada at Zehrs. It was with the other can stuff on the bottom shelf. Couldn’t see it I had to ask for help to find it. I just made it and can’t wait to try it. I have to confess though. Not sure how it will turn out but I chopped up my onion, 1/2 of a red pepper, 1/2 of green pepper, 6 mushrooms and 2 celery stalks in my chopper and added that to the chili. Then I through in a handful of shredded carrots to help thicken it up a bit and I added low sodium beef broth maybe 1/2 cup.

  31. Great Recipe! I used roasted diced tomatoes instead of the rotel. My family and husband loved it, they couldn’t believe it was a weight watchers recipe.
I will be using this recipe often.
    Thank you so much

  32. I have made this a few times and love it.
Today I’ve got to leave for most of the day. Can I put the slow cooker on low for 8 hours it will that not work? I’ve always done it in high for 4.
I just would hate to ruin an entire batch of awesome chili.

    1. Hi Raina! I haven’t done this particular chili in the slow cooker for the whole day, but I’ve done many other chilis that way and they have worked out fine. I say go for it!

  33. I made this once and loved it. I was wondering if I use half the amount of beans would I need to adjust anything else?

    1. Hi Angel! It’s not going to be as “thick” if you use half the amount of beans. I’d say add more meat or you could throw veggies in there (carrots, etc). Or you could just enjoy it being a little thinner. It’s still going to be chili consistency, just with more liquid.

  34. I’ve read through all of the comments to find out the number of SmartPoints and portion size. Looks like 4-5 people have asked, but the responses don’t provide the numbers. Please help!

  35. I had made this recipe the day before this post arrived. I added frozen corn kernels (in the original WW recipe) and frozen kale – both no points – but no turkey. Served with fat free sour cream makes it even more delicious!

    1. Looking online at other chili recipes, 30 minutes on low after it’s all cooked and together. I’ve never done it this way, but that’s what I’m finding.

  36. If you want to make this recipe 0 points on smart points just put more black beans and take out the kidney beans. For some reason kidney beans have smart points. I make a similar recipe and I also add cinnamon 🙂

  37. Hi Amy, I’m making this for dinner and just realized that I forgot the lime. Should I just skip it or will lemon work?

  38. Just made this for dinner in my electric pressure cooker. Came out great!
I made some substitutions due to not having certain items – only did 1 can each of beans and diced tomatoes. Also used chick peas instead of pintos. For chili powder, I used half ancho and half chipotle. I added a 15 oz can full of water since I skipped the 2nd can of tomatoes- wanted to make sure there was enough liquid in the pressure cooker. Also added chopped carrots, celery, and green pepper that I had on hand. It came out perfect!

  39. You are a saint to answer all these questions. It seems to be getting noncooks cooking. I’ll be making it this week. I too have an Instant pot that has intimidated me. I shall persevere.

  40. I followed the recipe exactly as written (with the 1/2 T cumin and 1/2 T oregano and 1 T chili powder). I simmered it on the stove and it was very good. The key is to simmer it or cook it for a while so it gets saucy and the consistency of a thick chili. Don’t skip the lime! It would not be the same without it! I will continue to make this as a go to meal.

  41. Made this last weekend. My husband, who is not on WW, loved it. He added cheese and other topping to his taste, and I kept mine without. Easy to make, directions are perfect, and tastes delicious. This recipe made it into “my favorites recipe book”. Nice job. Thank you.

  42. Hi Amy! I’m excited to try this recipe!
I was wondering if I could use a couple of substitutions and if you have any idea how I would need to adjust measurements –
    I’m wondering about replacing
    * 2-3 garlic cloves, minced WITH minced garlic (like already minced in water)
    AND
    * 1 lime WITH lime juice (bought in a squeeze bottle)
Do you have any guess on how much I should use of those ingredients?
Thanks in advance for any advice/help you can offer and thank you for sharing your recipe!

    1. yes you can definitely substitute minced garlic for the cloves – it’s about 1 – 1.5 tsp for a clove. For the lime juice, one lime has about 2 tablespoons of juice!

    1. Rhonda there’s a recipe card at the bottom of the post if you need macros. It’s 45.3 and I hope you enjoy it!

  43. Hi I was just wondering if this recipe could be halved and still turn out? I would be the only person eating it and it looks like it makes quite a bit. If I reduced the ingredients say the amount of beans and canned tomatoes would the cooking time be less? Any information would be greatly appreciated.

    1. Hi Andiee! It’s hard to say because I haven’t tried, but you could try it! Also keep in mind, it does freeze well. Having said that, I would still cook the same time. If you have an Instant Pot, pressing the Beans/Chili button should work regardless of you 1/2ing it or not.

  44. Well, I just had a small “tester” bowl, not sure I can make it until supper! Delicious! It fits both my WW Freestyle and vegan lifestyle. I added some vegan beef crumbles substitute.
Getting ready to make vegan nacho “cheeze” sauce. Supper tonight will be a baked potato, topped with chili, cheeze sauce, vegan sour cream, green onions, and cilantro! Maybe tomorrow…and the next day too! Thank you for a great and easy recipe!

  45. I made this tonight after finding the recipe today!! This is THE best chili I’ve ever made:)
Thank you for posting this!! I can see this being a staple in my weekly diet:)

  46. I just entered the nutritional values in my WW app calculator and it shows 7 points per 1 serving?

  47. Great recipe- thanks! I ground up chicken breasts in my food processor, worked wonderfully. We used this recipe for chili dogs. Used Hebrew National 99% fat free hot dogs for 1 point!

  48. If you are using an instant pot, you need at least 1/2 cup of liquid and put the tomatoes last (on top). To avoid the burn display, avoid having the tomatoes in the bottom. Hope this helps.

  49. I made this in a pot on the stove and it came out great. I love this recipe, it was very simple to make too!

    Thank you!

    Katie

  51. I make this regularly. When I finish, I make more. I add some low sodium broth to it.
I love this and recommend it highly.

  52. I think this is some of the best chili I have ever eaten. I used ground chicken breast (which I ground myself). The spices were perfect. Can’t wait till tomorrow when I’m sure it will be even better!

  53. Made the Chili is awesome one question do you use the whole lime or just a quarter of it? Thanks Roberta?

  54. This is the best chili recipe I’ve come across..weight watchers or not. Love it. Thank you for sharing!

  55. Great Recipe! I used roasted diced tomatoes instead of the rotel. My family and husband loved it, they couldn’t believe it was a weight watchers recipe.
I will be using this recipe often.
    Thank you so much

  56. I have made this a few times and love it.
Today I’ve got to leave for most of the day. Can I put the slow cooker on low for 8 hours it will that not work? I’ve always done it in high for 4.
I just would hate to ruin an entire batch of awesome chili.

  57. I made this once and loved it. I was wondering if I use half the amount of beans would I need to adjust anything else?

  58. I had made this recipe the day before this post arrived. I added frozen corn kernels (in the original WW recipe) and frozen kale – both no points – but no turkey. Served with fat free sour cream makes it even more delicious!

  61. Made this last weekend. My husband, who is not on WW, loved it. He added cheese and other topping to his taste, and I kept mine without. Easy to make, directions are perfect, and tastes delicious. This recipe made it into “my favorites recipe book”. Nice job. Thank you.

  62. My wife made this chili for me today and it was probably the most delicious chili I’ve ever had!

  85. Just made this with 99% lean ground turkey. I browned the turkey with 1 TBSP of Better than Bouillon Chili base dissolved in 1/2 cup of water to help flavor the meat. I also added cinnamon (one TBSP) along with all of the other ingredients. Once it was done, I took a cup of the chili juice and dissolved 1.5 TBSP Gluten Free Flour to add for thickener (works like a charm!) Lastly, I used 2 cans of regular Rotel and 1 can of Haberno (Hot) Rotel. What a kick! Next time, I may just use all hot Rotel in it as I love spicy. Right out of my pressure cooker, this chili is wonderful. Very flavorful and I’m sure by tomorrow when I heat up more, the flavors will have really melded. I had my first bowl with 4 Smart Points worth of Trader Joe’s Unexpected cheddar, a TBSP of Chopani plain, nonfat Greek Yogurt, cut up onions and diced tomatoes. Heaven! Thank you for this delicious recipe.

    1. That Better than Bouillon tip sounds delicious – and the cinnamon!! I love your modifications. Thank you . . . and I’m glad you enjoyed it 🙂

    1. Bre – you’ll need to do the recipe builder in the app, unless someone can leave a comment here. I don’t have the app anymore!

  86. First I just have to say this is an amazing tasting Weight Watchers Chili. My husband who is picky and only thinks his chili is the best, LOVES this stuff! My only question is, now that I have finally found 99% FF Turkey to use (I was using 96% in the ground beef department)…The Kidney beans I’m using, Bush or S&W, are points so either way this is not working out to be a zero point chili. I’m on the Freestyle program and I’ve looked up and down this blog to see if anyone else had the same issue but I wasn’t finding it. Can you tell me if I’m doing something wrong?

    1. I’m so glad you like it!! And as far as the beans, is there any sugar added? That’s the only reason I think there would be points. However, rinsing them should remove excess sugar from the juice. If it’s me, I’m not going to worry about it if the beans are rinsed. Kidney beans are definitely zero points in Weight Watchers. They list them on their site. Thank you!

      1. Hubby threw away the kidney bean cans before I could check for sugar but your right, when I type in Kidney beans it’s 0…when I scanned the cans at the store it had points. Oh well, I’m with you…no points on the kidney beans. It’s been working regardless because we have this once a week and combined we’ve lost 25lbs in 2 months! Thanks again 🙂

  87. Even in the hot weather, this chilli hits the spot. I add zucchini, mushrooms & peppers to mine and only one can of black beans (we do not love beans). When I can’t find 99% lean ground meat, I use boneless, skinless turkey breasts, then shred. Thanks for the great WW recipes!

    1. I’m thinking just straight tomato sauce – but I wouldn’t put as many cans in as I do the Rotel. At least I would be conservative so as not to make the chili watery. I’m not sure if it’s a texture ting with the tomato, but you could substitute with diced red peppers.

  88. You are very kind to answer & re-answer so many questions. I’m also new to Instant Pot cooking. Am trying your turkey chili, which smells amazing. I think I screwed up & released pressure when it had come to pressure & started cooking thinking it was done & depressurizing because I saw the keep warm button was on. I let it release for 17 minutes thinking it strange to take so long. Then I figured out it’s probably at the beginning not the end & trying to cook so won’t finish releasing since it’s still trying to build pressure. I pushed the pressure button to seal again & restarted the cycle, but have a feeling it’s going to be overcooked now. I’m sure you won’t see this in time but in the off chance you are checking your messages right now, I thought I’d ask your advice about whether I should cook for whole 30 minutes on “beans/chili still. And if not, maybe someone else can learn from my mistake.

  89. Well, I let the chili go for the allotted time even after my mistake & it’s delicious. I didn’t have Rotel so I used two 14.5 oz cans of diced tomatoes plus a 7oz can of diced green chilis. I did a Tbsp of cumin & 1+1/2 T of chili powder as per your original recipe mentioned in the comments & followed everything else as written except for my mistake with stopping & releasing too soon & then restarting. Thank you for a yummy recipe! We’re having it for dinner in 15 minutes! Love that it’s zero points! 😀

    1. Glad that you had a good experience! If anyone sees these follow up comments, you can always stop the IP for this recipe and restart. You might have to add chicken broth or water . . . it really depends on how much liquid is in those tomato cans 🙂

  90. Far TOO many beans and not near enough liquid. I added chicken broth and it was still very thick and almost all beans.

  91. I just made this in my instant pot. So easy and yummy! I added 1/2 T more chili powder and left out the kidney beans (not a fan). It turned out great! Thanks so much!

  92. This chili is THE BEST. We love it and make it regularly so that we keep our freezer and refrigerator stocked. It is great as a zero point meal, but I like to use the 93% lean turkey because I think it is just adds a little something to it. I also add some tomato paste and chicken stock and tweak the seasonings to balance with the extra stock, but it is SUPERB. I love topping it with nonfat Greek yogurt and scallions, and I add crunched tortilla chips when I feel like a splurge. I can’t say enough about this recipe. Thank you!

  93. This recipe is my “go to” meal on my WW freestyle diet. It is so good with the 99% lean turkey. Make plenty so you can freeze it and it makes for a great, easy meal when you crave some “comfort” food …and ZERO points! I sometimes use 93 or 94% lean turkey to add a little flavor, but it is not necessary. Top it with nonfat Greek yogurt and scallions, with a little lime. YUM!

  94. Hi! This recipe is a staple for me! Do you happen to know how many points this would be on the green plan? Thank you!

  95. I never write reviews….I know, I know…..but I had to leave a review for this recipe. It is amazing! So simple, so flavorful, so filling! It is a perfect zero point lunch. I love that it tastes fresh and light…not heavy, weighed down by grease or fat. I make a pot of this every week and my entire family eats it almost daily. Freezes wonderfully! Thank you for this!

    1. If you don’t have oregano, don’t worry about it! Add some additional basil or thyme or seasoning salt. It will still be good!

  96. This recipe is awesome. I’m making my second crockpot full. So great to have on hand when you’re hungry and out of points.

It’s also perfect for lunch at work.

  97. Can you be a little more specific in the instructions? I am a newbie instant pot/ non cook. Not sure when pot is ready to cook turkey

    1. Hi Nancy! When you press the Saute button, the bottom of the Instant Pot will start heating up like a regular pan. You can put the turkey in right away and you will hear it start to cook. You can start stirring it and breaking it apart as it cooks!

  98. I’m just wondering if anyone has made this on the stove? I’m entering a chili fundraiser cook off and using this recipe because it’s so good. Every episode is making it on the stove so I was hoping to do the same.

  99. Haven’t made chili yet. Can you substitute another kind of bean instead of black bean, don’t care for black beans?
This chili sounds wonderful. Love chili.

    1. Oh yes! Use any beans you like. You can add great northern, kidney, etc. Sometimes I leave out certain types or get others if they are on sale. I have made this chili without black beans before for sure! Good luck.
