These fruit kabobs are so easy to make, and you’ll also get a delicious dip recipe – AND learn how to make washi tape toothpicks!

I don’t know about you but I totally jumped aboard the washi tape bandwagon and started
hoarding collecting rolls of it about a year ago, so I really love when I think up something cute I can do with it.
It was so easy to pop it onto these toothpicks and I love how it takes a normal snack and makes it look so cute!
Making the washi tape toothpicks is simple, you’ll need toothpicks, scissors, and washi tape.
I bought these unique shaped bamboo toothpicks at Target, and I really liked the shape of them for wrapping the washi tape. They had a flat front instead of round.
I placed a piece of washi tape on the toothpick and then trimmed it with scissors right above where the toothpick curved out to be thicker. I only wanted the tape on the strait skinny part of the toothpick.
I tried to place the center of the washi tape along the toothpick and then I wrapped the sides around to the back. Easy peasy friends! In minutes you’ve got the cutest toothpicks you have ever seen.
I chose to use bright summer colors of washi tape because I knew that I wanted to make little fruit kabobs with it. I love how the washi compliments the bright colors of fruit and creates a perfect summer snack!
The only thing better than fresh fruit is fresh fruit with a delicious fruit dip! I created this citrus flavored fruit dip because I love a light but delicious addition to a party fruit tray. It’s simple to whip up and will please all your guests.
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon orange zest
- 1 teaspoon orange juice
- 2 cups fresh whipped cream
- Combine the sour cream and brown sugar and whisk until the sugar has dissolved.
- Add the orange zest and juice and mix to combine.
- Fold in the whipped cream and carefully mix until all lumps are smoothed out.
- Put in the fridge for a few hours.
- Enjoy with fresh fruit like strawberries, pineapple, blueberries, kiwi and bananas.
