This fun DIY skeleton wreath can be put together with a handful of dollar store Halloween finds – add it to your festive holiday decor!
Skills Required: None. Even if you’ve never crafted before, you can make this project! You’ll be spray painting and then hot gluing, and that’s all you need to know how to do.
My favorite place to go to decorate for Halloween is the dollar store. In my opinion, for this flamboyant holiday it’s “the gaudier the better,” and the dollar store Halloween section is always full of the cheap and bright and spooky. And I LOVE that stuff.
I hope you like skeleton crafts as much as I do. Because today, I’m going to show you a fun DIY skeleton wreath you can put together with a handful of dollar store finds to add to your holiday decor. Here’s what I did to make this Halloween wreath!
DIY Skeleton Wreath
Supplies Needed
- 4 – 5 plastic skeletons (I found mine at Dollar Tree)
- Wreath form
- Spray paint – black and white (make sure it sticks to plastic)
- Glue gun/sticks
- Ribbon
- Scissors
Not all spray paint sticks to plastic, so make sure that yours does when you purchase it.
1. Harness your inner Dr. Frankenstein and pull apart all of the plastic skeletons. Lay the pieces out separately.
2. Spray paint both sides of the bones and the wreath form. You’re going to spray paint the wreath form and half of the skeleton pieces with black. Then you’ll spray paint the other half of the skeleton pieces with white.
3. Let the bones dry. Double check to make sure you don’t have any obvious pieces that you missed.
4. Attach the bones to the form using the glue gun. Cut a length of ribbon, attach it around the skeleton wreath, and hang.
This skeleton wreath is so fun and spooky! Your trick or treaters are gonna love it! Or you’re gonna love it as you sit back and eat all their candy. I don’t judge.
