These hand painted air dry clay ring dishes are a sweet little craft! Clay dishes like this make a pretty personalized gift, and they are so easy to make.
Hi guys! Jennifer from Brave New Home here again to share a sweet little craft perfect for ushering in spring.
If you haven’t before, I invite you to stop by my personal blog to check out what other DIY and home design projects I’m working on.
For this project, you will need air dry clay, acrylic paints, permanent markers and clear acrylic spray paint.
I started with two small circles of air dry clay.
After I rolled them out, I smoothed the edges with water then gently pressed them in a small tea cup to dry overnight.
Once dry, I outlined some simple floral patterns. I’m not typically a flower person but once spring hits I just get wild about flowers!
Paint in layers stopping after every color to let each layer dry. This will help avoid mixing paint colors.
Then I went back and added some details with permanent markers. Finally, I gave both sides a coat of clear acrylic spray paint. The spray paint will keep the colors in place and prevent any dirty smudges on the white clay.
I made two of these little ring holder dishes, one for each of my son’s teachers.
I think it will be a nice personalized little present when the school year comes to an end.
