These easy fruit dessert recipes are perfect for summer! Make desserts with apple, blueberry, cherry, strawberry, peach, and more. There are both hot and cold options, and some healthy selections as well.
I have a confession: when I was younger, I didn’t like fruit in my desserts. There were “rules” around fruit being a healthy snack . . . chocolate was more of a dessert to me. I wouldn’t eat pie, and I would’ve laughed at a cobbler.
I will admit, I was so wrong.
I remember being in college when I discovered how amazing a piece of pie was with vanilla ice cream. This is funny, but I won’t ever forget the type of pie: razzleberry pie.
I don’t even know what a razzleberry pie is, but I was dogsitting for a friend and hungry and there was a piece available. So I ate it. Warm with the vanilla ice cream in the freezer.
My opinion on fruit desserts changed at that moment, for better or worse (my hips don’t always agree with that choice). I now can find joy in fruit dessert recipes, instead of being judgy. I guess we all grow up at some point?
I’ve put together a list of fruit dessert recipes at the bottom of this post because I wanted to share some of my favorites with you from over the years. I love trying new recipes (my neighbors thank me), and I think you should try these too.
Having said that, you can scroll down and get them . . . or you can check out when fruit is in season below. I added this cheat section if you need it. Otherwise, grab yourself some dessert and let’s celebrate fresh fruit!
When is Fruit in Season?
Most fruit can be purchased in the grocery store all year, but this is a list of what can be found in season.
It’s not everything, but it covers most fruits you might want to put in desserts, generally speaking. It doesn’t mean you can’t buy these fruits at other times, but it is when they are at their best.
Are you ready to get the fruit dessert recipes? I’m ready to share them with you. Check out these delicious treats and then let me know your favorite in the comments!
