I’m very excited to talk about fall crochet today! You see, I’ve been a knitting enthusiast for over three decades (yes, you heard that right – 31 years!), but crochet is the one crafty frontier I’ve yet to conquer.
I’ve sat through classes, sought advice from fellow crafters, yet that elusive crochet hook continues to be my archnemesis. Can anyone relate to this saga or am I alone in this tangled yarn tale?
But, as the leaves start to turn and the air gets that crisp, fall feel, I’m hit with a wave of determination (or maybe it’s just the pumpkin spice talking).
This fall, I’m on a mission to finally get the hang of this crochet business. And what better way to get hooked (pun absolutely intended) than diving into some fabulous fall crochet patterns?
I’ve scoured the earth (okay, mostly the internet) to bring you 30 free and irresistibly autumnal crochet patterns. We’re talking about cute, cuddly, and everything that screams ‘autumn is here!’
From cozy scarves that feel like a warm hug to adorable pumpkins that never go bad – these patterns are the perfect companions for your fall crafting sessions. There are ideas for gifts and fall decor.
So here’s the deal: I’m throwing down the crochet gauntlet and asking all you seasoned crocheters out there – which pattern should I tackle first?
Should I go bold and start with something complex, or keep it simple and sweet? Your guidance in my crochet journey would be greatly appreciated!
Don’t forget to scroll down and check out these enchanting autumn crochet patterns – they’re just waiting to transform your yarn stash into something magical.
And for all my fellow knitting veterans taking the crochet plunge, let’s show these hooks what we’re made of!
(P.S. – While you’re here, don’t miss our handy yarn weights guide, it’s a lifesaver for both knitting and crochet projects. It’s like the Swiss Army knife of the yarn world!)

I haven’t picked apples in years, but I think this year I might remedy that situation. I love the colors of this fall apple basket, and the pattern looks relatively easily. I think the size could be easily modified too if you want larger or smaller. These baskets would be amazing in my craft room!
Nothing makes me squeal more than “mini” things – like this dainty little acorn brooch! Yep, you’re going to crochet a small acorn and turn it into a pin. Make one or several (these are good gifts).
Start with something small, like a plain dish cloth. That is how I taught myself. I taught myself from a book mega years ago.

Crocheting is he best ! Don’t give up on learning anyone! My paternal grandmother taught me when i was 5 years old, and I haven’t put a hook down since. Now I’m 54. I taught myself how to knit too. I always favored crochet because to me its just much more relaxing. If you make a mistake just pull it out and do it again.....knitting is more like ???? . lol. i used to own my own yarn store in my town. unfortunately it did not attract as much interest as i had hoped. But now thanks to Etsy....i have an online store that i love and can connect with a lot more people. For beginners i would suggest small projects first like the leaves or acorn broach. whatever you do have fun!!!
