This is a recipe that’s as fun and easy as shaking a snow globe. Imagine taking a basic Oreo, crushing it to oblivion, and mixing it with just enough cream cheese to create a velvety, mouth-watering truffle mixture.

But wait, it gets better. These heavenly balls are then dipped in chocolate and adorned with all the festive crushed candy cane your heart desires.

They’re the perfect bite-sized way to bring some much needed joy. Let’s create some delicious memories, one Oreo ball at a time! Here’s what you’re going to need:

Ingredients

  • 36 Oreo cookies, finely crushed
  • 1 teaspoon peppermint extract
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 8 oz block of cream cheese, softened to room temperature
  • 10 oz bag dark chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 tablespoon Crisco or vegetable oil
  • Crushed candy canes for garnishing

Tips and Thoughts for This Recipe

For different flavors, substitute the peppermint extract for another favorite. If you just don’t want peppermint flavoring, sub with vanilla.

If you’ve never used a cookie scoop, it’s amazing for making uniform sized balls. I highly recommend it.

If you don’t have a food processor, I recommend using a ziploc bag and rolling pin (or other heavy object) to break up the Oreos. Put them in the bag and smash!

Because they include dairy (cream cheese), don’t leave them on the counter. Store them in the fridge in an airtight container.
