Tassels are a low-effort, high-impact craft that’s sure to make anyone smile. Whether you’re adding one or a hundred to a project, they’re an affordable way to add some pretty to your day.
Making a Tassel
If you love tassel crafts you’re going to be really happy – because they are really easy to make! You’re going to want to grab a high quality yarn, twine, or embroidery floss (something that won’t break when you wrap it).
Cut a piece of cardboard that is about 2″ wide and is the length of the tassel you want to make. Wrap the yarn or floss around and around and around the cardboard until your tassel is the desired thickness. Cut the end of the thread.
Slide the loop off of the cardboard and tie toward the top, leaving a loop. Tie in a tight knot and trim the yarn. Then cut the loop at the bottom. Trim everything up and then you can string and use your new tassel creation as you please.
If you need any assistance, there are plenty of videos online that will show you how to do it. I promise, it’s easy.
