Grab your cauldron, dust off your spellbook, and get ready to conjure up some wickedly fun witch crafts for kids!
From spooky skeletons to eerie ghosts, picking a theme for Halloween can make the season even more memorable. This time, I’m thinking of going with witches as my Halloween theme.
Why have a witch theme for Halloween?
There are so many fun (and sometimes scary) things associated with witches: bubbling cauldrons filled with mystical potions, casting magic spells or putting a curse on someone.
For the little ones, it can be fun to concentrate on what witches might look like: pointy hats, flying brooms, maybe green skin with warts? That’s right—I’ve got some of the best witch-inspired crafts that are perfect for kids!
Have a witch movie marathon!
Oh, before I get to the witch crafts (not to be confused with witchcraft), why not have fun watching some witch movies as a family?
Obviously I recommend the Harry Potter movies. If you are looking for something different, here are a few kid-friendly movies featuring witches that are perfect for Halloween family movie nights:
“Hocus Pocus” (Rated PG 1993) – Follow the adventures of three witch sisters who are accidentally resurrected on Halloween night in Salem, Massachusetts. It’s a classic Halloween comedy filled with magic, mischief, and plenty of laughs. By the way, here are my favorite Hocus Pocus crafts!
“The Witches” (Rated PG 1990) – Based on the Roald Dahl book of the same name, this film tells the story of a young boy who discovers a secret society of witches plotting to turn all children into mice. It’s a spooky and whimsical tale that’s sure to entertain the whole family.
“Kiki’s Delivery Service” (Rated G 1989) – This animated film follows the journey of a young witch named Kiki as she moves to a new town and starts her own delivery service. It’s a heartwarming story about friendship, independence, and the power of believing in yourself.
“ParaNorman” (Rated PG 2012) – In this stop-motion animated film, a young boy named Norman can communicate with the dead. When his town is threatened by a witch’s curse, Norman must use his unique abilities to save the day. It’s a spooky and funny adventure that’s perfect for Halloween.
These movies offer a mix of humor, adventure, and magic, making them ideal choices for a Halloween movie marathon the whole family can enjoy! Do you have a favorite movie about witches? Let me know in the comments; I’d love to check it out!
